The University of Ghana Tennis Championship (UGTC) is an annual tennis tournament organized by the University of Ghana Sports & Wellness Directorate in partnership with Rite Sports Services and Ghana Tennis Federation.

UNIVERSITY OF GHANA TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP

The championship is designed to promote tennis as a sport for healthy living, recreation, competition and social interaction while positioning the University of Ghana as a leading hub for sporting excellence.

The championship brings together corporate tennis players (not professionals) from across Ghana to compete in a professionally organized tournament that celebrates excellence, discipline, and sportsmanship.

 

The maiden edition in 2025 was played at the University of Ghana Tennis Court and attracted teams from banks, energy, educational institutions and Aviation sector. The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo and President of the Ghana Tennis Federation, Mr. Isaac Duah opened the Championship with a curtain raiser game.  The Championship was won by Volta River Authority (VRA)

Beyond the competition, the University of Ghana Tennis Championship serves as a platform for networking, business engagement and community interaction. It offers corporate organizations a unique avenue to promote employee wellness, build stronger relationships with clients and partners and increase brand visibility through sports sponsorship and event activation.

The championship seeks to:
